About FIMA

Who we are

The world's first international minifootball federation with a direct institutional chain to the International Olympic Committee

The Federation of International Minifootball Associations (FIMA) is a Florida non-profit corporation registered under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), headquartered in Miami, Florida, USA. FIMA serves as the global governing body of affiliated minifootball in all its formats: 5v5, 6v6, 7v7, 8v8 and 9v9, representing more than 265 million players across five continents.

Ounded by sports leaders from the United States and Latin America, FIMA was established to fill a historic gap by bringing structure and international representation to the world’s most widely played small-sided football discipline through its first truly international governing body, socially committed and connected to the Olympic Movement.

Our approach

Our Mission
To promote, organize and develop minifootball worldwide as a tool for sports excellence, education, social transformation, employment and cultural exchange — through our five pillars of institutional development.

We are committed to providing our affiliated athletes with hope, support and real opportunities. Through financial assistance, education, professional development and personalized guidance, we ensure that every athlete receives the help they need as quickly as possible, tailored to their individual circumstances and aspirations.

Our Vision
A world where every minifootball player — regardless of age, gender, ability or social condition — has access to organized sport, quality education and real opportunities through the game they love.

Our team envisions a world where every athlete facing challenges, no matter how small or significant, can access meaningful support, quality education, employment opportunities and pathways for personal growth. We strive to expand our reach across all regions of the world so that everyone can benefit from our programs and services.

Our Institutional Foundation

FIMA is built on a solid international institutional framework that connects national minifootball federations directly to the Olympic movement. Through our strategic international affiliations, FIMA provides its member federations with the most valuable asset any sports organization can have — a verified and legitimate path to Olympic recognition. This institutional foundation is what separates FIMA from every other minifootball organization in the world — and it is available exclusively to FIMA member federations.

Our Story

FIMA was born from a simple but powerful conviction — that 265 million minifootball players worldwide deserved better. Better representation. Better programs. Better opportunities.Founded in Miami, Florida in 2025 by sports leaders from Colombia and the Americas, FIMA set out to build what had never existed — an international minifootball federation with real Olympic credentials, a comprehensive social development program, and the institutional seriousness to represent the sport at the highest levels. From its founding, FIMA established the first national member federations in USA, Colombia and Costa Rica — and began building the global network that will carry minifootball to its rightful place in the world sports landscape. This is only the beginning."
